May 2011: Scottish Opera
today announced details of their 2011-12 season, during which Paul
Carey Jones will appear as the Father
in Bill Bankes-Jones' new production of Humperdinck's Hansel & Gretel, conducted by
Emmanuel Joel-Hornak. Performances will take place in Glasgow and
Edinburgh in February 2012.
Later in the season Paul will also appear as Angelotti in the revival of Anthony
Besch's classic production of Puccini's Tosca, conducted by Scottish Opera's
musical director, Francesco Corti. Performances will also take place in
Glasgow and Edinburgh, as well as Aberdeen and Inverness, in May and
June 2012.
Scottish Opera will be staging their by-now traditional Tosca Unwrapped performances, which
give members of the public a chance to see highlights of the piece, as
well as gain insights into how an opera is prepared and staged. Paul
will appear as Scarpia in
these shows, which take place in between the full performances.
