4th September - Caryl Hughes became the latest singer to add her name to the list of winners of the W Towyn Roberts Scholarship, Wales' most prestigious award for young singers. Caryl is from Aberdaron in North Wales (famous amongst other reasons for being the subject of the magnificent poem by Cynan, most notably set to music by Meirion Williams), and is currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music. Second place went to Huw Llywelyn Jones, and third to another of the RAM's Cardiff contingent, Elizabeth Toye. Congratulations to all.
