23rd December 2004 - The Daily Telegraph's opera critic, Rupert Christiansen, selected the National Opera Studio Showcase at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in May as one of the highlights of 2004:

"Younger talent also emerged hearteningly. A hugely promising lyric soprano, Kate Royal, led an excellent crop at the annual showcase given by the students of the National Opera Studio, happily ensconced in new premises in Wandsworth. Oh well, maybe it (2004) wasn't quite so bad after all."
